About textiles

The field of textiles is more complicated than it seems at first glance. To find the right product, you need to know exactly what you want. As the materials, manufacturing techniques and treatments are different, the same visual result can be obtained using different materials and treatments, but the price level is completely different.
n choosing a suitable textile product, it is very important to know where and for what purpose you want to use the product and what life expectancy is expected from the item. In the case of sportswear, it is important that the clothing has low wind resistance and dries quickly, so sportswear uses a lot of artificial materials that best suit these properties.
Cheap fashion brands offer a very wide range of affordable clothing. The favorable price is achieved mainly with artificial materials that look effective. The quality of the item is difficult to assess at first glance, the quality of textile products usually becomes clear after the first washings. You will recognize a good quality product by the fact that its colors are preserved, the material is not stiff or pungent, the original size and shape are retained, the product does not become topical, and the print on the print does not peel, crack or fall off the object.
MATERIALS
The most important thing about the look and the better price is that the items are user friendly. Materials play the biggest role in this. If you want to spend as little as possible on clothing, think first about what this product has to offer you. Each person can decide for himself which material is most suitable for him. Brief summaries of the most common textile materials are given below.
COTTON
Natural material. This material is valued the most in the home textile segment, in the clothing industry it will give way to polyester. Cotton as a material is more expensive than artificial materials.
Cotton has very good properties, near the skin it keeps you warm, lets the skin breathe and maintains body temperature even in cold weather. Therefore, cotton is used in the manufacture of children's clothing. When buying cotton children's clothing, you can be sure that the child is warm in winter clothes. Cotton can withstand washing temperatures of 60 ° and higher, which is an important condition for washing bed linen. Cotton satin, which is used as a luxury bedding material, is washed at a maximum of 60 ° to maintain its processing properties. Cotton is the only bedding material that ensures the proper functioning of breathable blankets. Cotton has a very good moisture absorption, so it is used to make terry towels as well as kitchen towels, where this property is most important. Cotton moisture absorption reaches its correct level when the item is washed 3-5 times, it is important to remember this for terry towels and kitchen towels.
The disadvantage of cotton is that it stretches a little and wrinkles quickly, so people who love comfort see it as a problem rather than an advantage and do not understand its higher price. Cotton is a biodegradable material and does not pose any threat to nature. The poor elongation of cotton is corrected by the addition of elastane, as long as the content of 1-5% elastane does not change the breathing properties of the material. Cotton products containing elastane must not be washed at a temperature higher than 40 °, as the elastane particles break at hotter temperatures and first cause holes and later tissue leakage.
MODAL AND BAMBOO
The materials are semi-synthetic because they are made of cellulose or wood fibers. In the case of bamboo, it is stated which wood cellulose the textile is made of. The materials are characterized by a smooth and slippery surface, they are heavier and well-falling. When ironed, they stay in good shape and do not wrinkle so quickly. Very good material for making dresses and skirts. Bamboo textiles are now very popular and have conquered the markets, mainly due to the price advantage over cotton. The material can be found in virtually all areas of textile products. As the material is semi-natural, it is a great argument for those who appreciate natural origin. However, it is often not known that obtaining fibers is difficult, risky and dangerous for the environment. Bamboo material was thought to have antibacterial activity, but modern laboratory studies do not support this hypothesis.
The materials are very soft and comfortable to the touch on the skin and hands, but they do not keep warm, so this fact should be taken into account when choosing children's underwear, hosiery and sock products during the winter. Bath towels and towels are made of bamboo material, their absorbency is similar to terrycloth, but after washing they are not able to restore their former appearance so well, which is why their surface remains teddy after washing. It is important to prevent the hairs from sticking together before they dry.
POLYESTER
The most popular material in today's clothing industry, because it allows you to make effective and true prints, and the fabric looks very wrinkle-free, smooth and attractive to the eye. In addition, the polyester material is affordable, although it looks virtually the same as cotton. Polyester is a suitable material for those who appreciate speed and who do not want to spend time on ironing, because polyester retains its shape even after washing and there is practically no need to iron the material. The polyester is washed at low temperatures because it melts at hot temperatures.
Polyester and plastic bags are related to each other, so its breathing properties are poor. Polyester takes on a more extreme temperature, so in cold weather it is not worth wearing a plain polyester undershirt, as it creates a feeling of coolness. In addition, it has another bad property when it is cool, namely, it generates a lot of static electricity or excitement in cooperation with the hair. Polyester is the predominant part of sports shirts, in order to achieve breathability, a ventilation system is created through the corresponding fabric structure. Polyester dresses look very nice, but you have to take into account that unlined material can attract itself to the body with static electricity, and a nice dress becomes an object that reveals curves, which is not good for those who originally wanted to hide their small flaws with the object.
Another form of polyester is fleece, which is very popular among people. The surface of the fleece is hairy, and because people have small hairs on their skin, an air gap is created that keeps them warm, and therefore the fleece is no longer comparable to a smooth polyester shirt. In the case of fleece, it must be taken into account that they accumulate moisture on the inside of the material, and therefore it is not recommended to stay in the yard for a long time after sweating in winter, so that no cooling moment occurs. However, the accumulated moisture in the fleece is quickly removed if the object is removed from the back for a while, because the material dries very quickly.
Polyester bedding does not breathe, it promotes sweating and is rough on the skin. Microfabric, which is very soft for the hand, is very often used as the upper fabric for affordable blankets, but in fact this material does not let air through and you are covered as if with a plastic bag. Microfabric blankets are only useful in uninsulated old houses where heat must be stored. Smooth polyester quickly becomes topical and rough. Cotton and polyester don't stick together, so you may find that the quilt often wants to leave the bed.
Polyester melts during combustion and creates hot burning droplets, so avoid getting close to the fire. Therefore, fire with polyester clothing should not be extinguished, as it promotes combustion instead. Polyester items decay very slowly in nature.
WOOL
Natural material of animal origin that has been used since the beginning of time. Wool is mainly used as a raw material for wool. Different types of sheep and animals have wool of different softness, the properties of wool can be improved through treatments. Wool is one of the most expensive natural materials next to silk.
Wool does not wrinkle, it keeps heat well and regulates heat, which is why it is good to use it in summer as well. Wool does not collect moisture but naturally allows it to evaporate through the fibers and does not generate static electricity. Wool items are indispensable in winter because they are the most skin-friendly. The only downside of wool is its natural hardness.
ACRYLIC
Wool is the main substitute material, its properties are similar to wool - it does not wrinkle, keeps it warm and in shape. As it is an artificial material, it generates static electricity. In terms of price, it is many times cheaper than wool, in terms of roughness equivalent to wool, but with a more artificial feeling in the hand.
Acrylic products are a little stiffer than wool products, the material can be painted in different shades. Detergents and washing mode for woolen products should be used for washing.
